Chrome diamond-block grille

The GLC Coupe's diamond-block grille reflects the sparking performance within. Radiating from the Star is a series of intricate haxagonal "pins," each one individually shaped by the car's designer to optimize both aesthetics and airflow. Each pin is tipped in chrome for a look that's positively captivating. The single central crossbar is finished in chrome and set into a silver chrome surround.

Performance & Handling

2.0L inline-4 turbo engine

The 241-hp 2.0L turbo inline-4 in the GLC 300 combines numerous advances to deliver more power from less fuel. Its rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection can fine-tune themselves in milliseconds. Its turbocharger spools up quickly to boost response, helping deliver all of the engine's 273 lb-ft of torque at just 1,300 rpm. Widely variable timing of all 16 valves and innovative 3-phase cooling team up to reduce emissions while raising your emotions.

ECO Start/Stop system

An ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.

4MATIC all-wheel drive

In any season, on any road, 4MATIC® all-wheel drive adds to your confidence and control. Always engaged and optimizing torque to every wheel, 4MATIC integrates with ESP®, our standard Electronic Stability Program, for maximum effectiveness in corners and slippery conditions. It also incorporates our 4-wheel Electronic Traction System (4-ETS®), which monitors for the first sign of wheel slip and responds to ensure torque is sent to the wheels with the best grip, even if that's only one wheel.

9G-TRONIC automatic transmission with shift paddles

With a greater range of ratios and shorter steps between gears, the 9-speed automatic changes gears more quickly but nearly imperceptibly. Along with a more seamless delivery of power, the lighter, more versatile transmission enhances quiet riding comfort and fuel-efficiency. The electronic selector and shift paddles let you control all gear changes with your hands on the steering wheel. And drivers can vary the shift modes via the innovative DYNAMIC SELECT system.

Direct-steer system

Direct-steer automatically varies the steering ratio based on how far you turn the steering wheel. It provides quicker steering and lighter effort while parking while maintaining excellent directional stability and crisp feedback at higher speeds.

Safety

COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS

Radar-based technology alerts you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as the driver starts to brake, the system can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, the system can also initiate braking automatically from speeds up to 65 mph, and can activate the features of PRE-SAFE®.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a new dashboard display.

Crosswind Assist

Interpreting information that is continually supplied by the vehicle's Electronic Stability Program (ESP®), electric power steering and suspension sensors, Crosswind Assist helps detect the effects of strong side winds on handling stability at highway speeds. Whether caused by lateral gusts or even a passing truck, the system helps keep the car on course via strategic braking of the wheels on one side of the vehicle, as well as adjustments to the air suspension when so equipped.

LED Daytime Running Lamps and taillamps

Bright white LED Daytime Running Lamps help get the GLC noticed, for added safety and in modern style.

LED headlamps and taillamps

With longer life, quicker illumination and beams that approximate daylight even more closely than xenon headlamps, the LED headlamps enhance both vision and visibility during nighttime driving. Bright white LED Daytime Running Lamps and all other front light functions are integrated within the flowing sculpture of the headlamp assemblies, making the design as appealing as it is illuminating. Wide, horizontal taillamps feature an LED "twin-torch" design plus LED turn signals and brake lamps.

Rearview camera

Shift into Reverse, and a rear-mounted camera displays a live 180-degree view of what's behind the vehicle on the screen atop the dashboard. Active on-screen guidelines indicate the car's projected path as you turn the steering wheel

Adaptive braking technology

Adaptive braking technology integrates a suite of advances. If you lift off the accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming sets the pads closer to the discs for more immediate response when you apply the brakes. In the rain, Automatic Brake Drying periodically applies the brakes just enough to sweep water build-up from the discs. During uphill starts, Hill-Start Assist helps prevent unwanted rollback. And a HOLD feature can make long red lights or stopped traffic a little easier.

Comfort & Convenience

14-way power driver seat with memory

Intuitive, seat-shaped controls help you find your ideal driving position with 14-way power adjustment, including 4-way power lumbar support. A memory system for the driver seat recalls three stored positions for the seat plus the power steering column and side mirrors.

Dual-zone automatic climate control

Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 0.0002-inch from entering the cabin.

Five years of mbrace Connect gives you remote access to your car from your smartphone or computer. The Mercedes me Mobile App puts Remote Start and numerous other conveniences on your phone. Remote Start via Mercedes me Mobile App

The Remote Start feature lets you start your car's engine from the Mercedes me Mobile App on your smartphone. Just the tap of a virtual key on your smartphone lets you pre-condition the cabin by giving the climate control up to a 10-minute head-start on your arrival. It's part of the mbrace Connect package, and five years of its benefits come standard.

Power liftgate

For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open and close the liftgate via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the driver's door or the underside of the liftgate and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the liftgate if it detects an obstruction, and you can set the system to limit the opening height, useful under low ceilings.

Central controller and 7-inch color display

Featuring a big standard 7.0-inch color display and a central controller on the console, the GLC gives you convenient control of audio, video, hands-free calling and optional navigation functions. Many features can also be accessed via the integrated steering-wheel controls. The freestanding display combines a big viewing area with a sleek design, with no need for a bulky visor.

FrontBass® system

A leap forward in audio quality, FrontBass takes advantage of the GLC bodyshell by utilizing the rigid front frame members as resonance chambers for twin under-dash subwoofers.
