Since 1960, Military AutoSource has been proudly serving the U.S. Military community overseas. The mission of MAS has always been to provide an exclusive car-buying program with benefits tailored to the unique needs of military life overseas.
To celebrate this exciting milestone MAS wanted to go big and make a splash! Military AutoSource held a giveaway with a grand prize of a brand-new 2025 Volkswagen Jetta at its off base locations in Europe. It was just a way to give back and say thank you to those who have trusted MAS for more than six decades.
The giveaway was free to enter and open to all U.S. Military and DoD personnel serving in Europe.
The Volkswagen Jetta Giveaway
Over 4,000 military members throughout Europe entered the giveaway. Nine finalists were selected to attend the grand finale event on Saturday, 18 October 2025 at the MAS Kaiserslautern off base location.

The Big Event
The grand finale event kicked off at 0900 where attendees had one last chance to be a part of the action and enter for a chance to be the 10th finalist. By 1130, the cheerleaders were hyping up the crowd, and the place was buzzing with anticipation. Someone would soon be crowned the winner of a brand-new Jetta, but who would it be?
Spin–the–Wheel Elimination
With the crowd gathered, all eyes were on the wheel as the anticipation started to build. The first spin gave Kevin Smart the final spot in the lineup of ten finalists.
From there the suspense grew as the spin-the-wheel elimination event started and one by one, each spin determined who would advance and who would be out.
As names were called, each participant received a Volkswagen swag bag with an MAS voucher to use toward a future vehicle purchase. The crowd cheered with every round, and the excitement kept building.

That left just two names on the wheel: Daniel Sanchez and Matthew Reid. Everyone leaned in as the final spin started. The wheel slowed, slowed some more, clicked, and just when it looked a winner had been chosen: it clicked, one more time.

And the grand prize winner is…
Technical Sergeant Matthew Reid from Kaiserslautern, Germany
The room erupted. The cheers, the smiles, and the moment itself said everything. For the Military AutoSource team, it was a proud moment and reflected what it’s all about: community, appreciation, and connection.
TSgt Reid’s reaction said it all. He was genuinely grateful and never expected to hear his name announced as the grand prize winner.
Final Thoughts
Every year, MAS has the honor of serving thousands of service members stationed around the world.
The MAS story has always been about more than just cars. It’s about people, purpose, and pride in serving those who serve us all.
